Critics Consensus: Nostalgic and inert, Practical Magic 2 has charms thanks to Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman's sisterly rapport, but its mechanical plotting is a whole lot of toil that's not worth the trouble.

Practical Magic 2 could have been fun, but lacks the magic to bewitch. So, if it is nostalgia you are after, better rewatch the original.

The Owens might be cursed, but whiteness haunts the Practical Magic films just as fully.

Practical Magic 2 feels more like a cash grab than a meaningful return, despite Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock having fun reprising their roles. Unfortunately, there is very little to enjoy from a narrative or writing perspective.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around who Practical Magic 2 is for, because not even the most ardent defenders of Dunne’s original think this sequel is good!

It's a little on the long side and you may not be able to stop wondering what on Earth is going on with Pace’s performance, but the women make it work.
