The new film is like a pleasant visit with old friends; just don’t go into it anticipating anything more than that.

While The Devil Wears Prada 2 is smarter and more enjoyable than it has any right to be, it’s also less whimsical and funny.

Reuniting with these memorable characters is undeniably delightful, but the sequel doesn’t quite recapture the magic or pizzazz of the original. The best part is easily Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly navigating the modern workplace.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 packages some fresh twists within familiar story beats, just like fashion loops back on itself after a generation.

I was so impressed with the way they tackled our new world head on ... yet they still seemed like they were plucked from 2006 and placed here. Meryl Streep deepens Miranda, Tucci is a sincere savior and the former two Emilys are sublime.

Millennial women who ate up the first film will devour this one. It not only gives the satisfaction of Andy staying "Andy" while wading back into the Runway world, but there is also the feeling of being "seen" by Miranda’s evolution in this film.

This is a fashionistas dream with haute couture that flies by quickly. Frankel makes the interactions of this stellar four-some more than satisfying, despite an uneven pace. With so much eye candy and star power, you may want to watch it with sunglasses.

A glossy, nostalgic sequel that plays it safe—charming and stylish, with Emily Blunt stealing the show, but ultimately too reliant on repeating the magic of the original without fully evolving it.
